COMMAND RECORDS
I embarked on a creative exploration to reimagine six John Mayer album covers in the iconic style of Command Records, a label renowned for its dynamic, movement-inspired designs. The albums chosen for this project were Room For Squares (2001), Heavier Things (2003), TRY! (2005), Continuum (2006), Where the Light Is (2008), and Battle Studies (2009). Each redesign aimed to honor the essence of Mayer's music while embracing the bold, action-oriented aesthetic of Command Records.

JOHN MAYER REIMAGINED
Command Records covers are defined by their vibrant geometric patterns, strong typography, and sense of energy and movement, often evoking sound visually. Each Mayer album design was carefully crafted to reflect the unique mood and themes of the music. For example, Room For Squares features a vibrating collection of squares, all different sizes and seemingly fighting for space. Continuum, a soulful and contemplative album, uses gradually growing shapes to create a literal continuum, while TRY! channels the raw energy of live performance a bold and striking electric guitar.
The project blends nostalgia with innovation, offering a fresh perspective on Mayer's discography while celebrating the timeless artistry of Command Records.
